The Chain Stitcher Supreme. This different looking sewing machine dates back to late 1880s or so and was a fine new sewing machine then and still is today. It is a chain stitcher (using one thread) where our everyday sewing machines are lock stitch (using two threads). Two main functions of a good chain stitcher today is to bast garments for stitching and more fun is in Red Work (embroidery).
