Singer 457

This is one of the early and better zig zag sewing machines made by SINGER. Most / many other manufactors of sewing machines were making zig zags before Singer produced one. During the improvedment stage Singer made the 237 as a simple but good plain zig zag sewing machine. This 457 soon followed with more improvements. In the Singer 457 we see the early designer stack of cams (2) to make stitches automatily.

Very nice stitches made sewing very heavy material. This is a very fine sewing machine that will serve you well.

The underside is protected with a drip pan. Keeps work area clean.

The serial number is FB516422 and it belongs to just this machine. The one plastic gear in this model to fail has been replaced. The machine will be safe now for 50 years.
