Necchi Lydia 3
One of the later good all metal sewing machines made in Italy by Necchi. It is different. It is very good. It is very easy to use. It is a very nice sewing machine. To me the most unusual thing about it is the location of the hand wheel. When that is accepted you find it a very good idea. The hand wheel is located at the bottom edge of the machine.

The free arm build is setup in a special cabinet so using the cabinet is important. It could be used without the cabinet but I would build a small table top to fit around the free arm. The price of this beauty is just $185.00.

The rear side holds the thread and the thread guides toward the top and front and the bobbin winding feature. On the front end on the rear side are the presser foot controls to set pressure on the foot and to raise the foot.

The red switch turns it on off - slow fast. on the back end is the hand wheel in lower position. Above is the adjustment wheel with all of the stitch selections. The notch by the thread holds the bobbin while winding.

This small table fits into a home well and could be very useful. If you should prefer to not use the cabinet I would plan to make a small table to place around the free arm to use on a table top as a portable sewing machine.
