Howe Treadle
The raw treadle just as found. It had been sand blasted in recent past. There are features of this industrial treadle quiet different from many other treadles. It must date back to the late 1880s or 90s. Searching for what is known about this well designed treadle

A view from above, back side toward the wheel. The holder for the oiler shows well. Note the wheel is mounted through a single bearing case. It appears this case receives and stores oil for the wheel lubrication.

The adjustable leg insert removed with the wheel cut out. This slot was on one side and a larger flat area to receive a set screw that was missing. The spring was in the socket this parts fits into.

View from top side of the wheel bearing case. Note large oil hole in top. I pored oil in this hole and in time it seeped out each side. No seals still working after 100 + years.

The four wheels removed from each foot. The three larger ones are 1-1/8" in diameter and the smaller wheel attaches to the adjustable foot. It is more than 3/4" in diameter. Very old metal wheels have worn some so these measurements may be a bit under what they should be. BUT I need replacements if you have any ideas.
